Baby Butler #2 Update

My check-ups for Baby Butler #2 have all been good so far. Aside from being tired, everything is going well. She is measuring right on target and is already an active kiddo - she would hardly sit still long enough for the doctor to get her heartbeat reading at my previous check-up. Now that we are in the new house, my next big project is to get her room ready. Our little turkey will be here soon!

Moving Day!

About a month and a half after we closed on our new house, we were finally able to move into it the last weekend of August. The flooring was finished just in the nick of time (except nine tiles in the master bathroom because the flooring guys ran out of tile, but that's another story). My family came in and helped Blake and I start moving things on Saturday morning, cleaning both the old and new houses and keeping Greyson entertained. They also helped me get the kitchen unpacked and set up Greyson's room and our bed so the house was semi-functional and we would at least have a place to crash at the end of the day. We couldn't have done it without them! We had movers come on Sunday to move all the furniture and big boxes, which worked out great. Blake and I didn't get much done during the next week, but had a very productive first weekend in our new home. There is still a lot we want to do, but we are so excited to finally be in our home.

Monkey see, monkey do.
All these empty boxes were just too tempting not to play in.
He was so excited about his big tunnel!
There was so much going on the first day of moving, he refused to take a nap, but he fell asleep the last 5-10 minutes of most of our trips back and forth between the houses.
Day 2 of moving. Aunt Tanya woke up bright and early and took the kiddos to do what any great aunt would do.... bought them all chocolate covered donuts with sprinkles! The rest of the donuts and kolaches were a big hit with the big kids, too!

Videos

Greyson loves to dance! The first time we all saw this Chick-fil-A commercial, Greyson started breaking it down in the living room. We rewound it and he did it a second and a third time. He may be secretly watching reruns of Seinfeld because I think he's picked up some of Elaine's dance moves. Silly kiddo!

Greyson has been "reading" books on his own and fills in the blanks when we read to him. Here he is reading Goodnight Moon. He's saying "Goodnight kitten, good night brush, good night mouse, good night mush" (bowl full of mush for those who have not read it a thousand times!).

Greyson's New Buzz Bed

We recently decided it was time for Greyson to try out his new toddler bed. We dusted off the hand-me-down bed from Lilly and Hallie that had been sitting in our garage and washed the new Toy Story bedding that he received for his birthday. We tested the waters with a nap on Sunday and he did pretty good. He fell asleep right away, but when he woke up he was just sitting on the edge of the bed crying. That night, he was so excited to go lay on his new Buzz bed. He even wanted to go to bed early (as soon as he got out of the bathtub!) He did pretty good the first couple of nights, with only a little fussing when we laid him down. We are now in week two of the transition and he wakes up at least once during the night and then is up for the morning around 5am (he used to sleep until at least 6:30am). He comes into our room and requests milk and/or to watch Mickey or Nemo. We think he's getting us trained for his baby sister's arrival, but this momma and daddy are wore out!

When all else fails, use the Mickey Mouse hammer.
 Working hard.
So excited to go to sleep in his Buzz bed for the first time! He has yet to actually sleep under the covers because he likes to see Buzz on the comforter.
Greyson has figured out that Daddy will share his breakfast when he wakes up so early.

Snapshots

We have been busy, busy lately with the new house. I have managed to pack a few boxes here & there and Blake has been going to the new house almost every evening to do some touch-up painting, install new outlet covers and light switches, cabinet door handles and a few other small (but time consuming!) projects. Greyson has been a trooper, but definitely misses his daddy and lets us know about it! Here are a few snapshots from the past few weeks.

Dr. Greyson checking Buzz's heartbeat.
Dr. Greyson performing a foot amputation.
He set the Mickeys in the chair and plopped down in front of them to read a bedtime story.
Greyson found his old Bumbo chair while I was packing a few things in his room. He thought it was fun to sit in it, but kept getting stuck when he tried to stand up!

Only Greyson would have Buzz Lightyear driving a John Deere tractor and hauling a pig in the trailer.

These are some of Greyson's daycare buddies that have been together since they were all in the infant room - Clayton, John and Zane.
Greyson's BFF, John. Look how grown up they look!

Birthday Party Videos

Nannie took a few videos at Greyson's birthday party earlier this month. Once he saw the wheels on one of his presents, he tried to enlist Nannie to help him unwrap it.

I realized he wasn't going to give up, so I let him unwrap the present before we ate lunch. He was pretty excited and spent most of the rest of the afternoon sitting in it (sometimes just so none of the other kids would sneak in it). I had to feed him lunch through the window as he scooted by and he opened the rest of his presents while sitting in it.

Greyson loved blowing out his birthday candle so much that he did it several times before we even finished singing "Happy Birthday" to him. He slowly took a few bites of the Oreo cookies and cupcake to (finally) reveal that his little sibling is a GIRL!
