Helping Grandpa

After my dad had surgery earlier in the week to remove a spot of melanoma on his back, we packed up the kids' Jeep and a day's worth of toddler necessities to spend the day (Grandpa probably thought we were staying for a week!) at his house helping him clean up his yard after a recent storm. The Moores also came prepared with their lawn equipment so we got his house cleaned, yard cleaned up and the brush burned within a few hours while Grandpa took it easy. Unfortunately, this is the second go-round for the same surgery, but he seems to be healing well. We all made sure to lather up in sunscreen while we were out in the sun!

Soccer Shots

Greyson started Soccer Shots last week. It's a program that visits the daycare weekly to teach the kids the fundamentals of soccer and teamwork. He had a great first week and even had his own little fan watching from across the playground!

Addison's Check-up

Addison had her 15-month Well Child check-up on March 21 (even though she's a day shy of 16 months old). She is now 24 lb 14 oz (87th percentile) and 33.5 inches tall (over 99th percentile!). Although she's one of the youngest in the "little toddler" room at daycare, she looks like she could be the oldest in comparison to the other kids in her class. She is starting to say a few words - Momma, DaDa, bye bye, bow and a few "words" that are not as recognizable, but we can tell what she is attempting to say. Most of those words (shoes, toes, moo) sound the same ("oooosss"). She can point out a few body parts, including eyes, nose, mouth and tummy. She has two bottom teeth coming in, one on each side of her four front teeth and the first molars). She likes to climb on everything and has gotten several bumps and bruises in the past few weeks since her new found sense of adventure kicked in.

While dropping Greyson off at daycare before the appointment, he got sick in the parking lot as I was getting him out of the truck. So I loaded him back into the truck and he tagged along with us to the appointment. The pediatrician check him out, but he seemed to be fine. He did have some sort of bite on his arm, so he got a Band-aid and a sticker and was all better.

Sibling Love

The kids were playing together... Daddy was helping build the train tracks... Addison thought the tracks needed to be rearranged... Greyson was not happy about that. (Look at the progression of Greyson's expressions!)

*Disclaimer - Greyson insisted on wearing his Cars PJs (which may or may not have been a size 2T??). They have since been retired.

Happy kiddo not sure what all the fuss is about. LOL.

Weekend Fun

We spent the weekend working and playing. We are planning to re-do our flowerbeds, but first we have to remove the tons of landscape rock that is currently in them. Luckily (after several failed attempts to give it away), a local man responded to Blake's ad for free rock and came with a trailer to haul it away. Blake spent the weekend helping him shovel a few trailor-loads full of rock, and Greyson spent the weekend helping and talking his new friend's (aka "That Man") ear off. We don't know what triggered the sudden change, but Greyson has been a little chatterbox lately, talking to family, friends and strangers nonstop! He usually insists on a response to each and every observation, "Right, Momma? Momma... riiight?? Right, Momma???" If for some reason I don't reply within a few seconds, I have even gotten scolded with, "Momma, talk to me." or "Look at my eyes." LOL, there's just so much for a three-year-old to observe!

Addison banging on the window. She desperately wanted to go outside and help.
Instead, she helped me with the laundry.
Taking a break from all the hard work for a quick wagon ride down the street with Nannie.
Amy is having a baby!! The kids have long outgrown this exersaucer/bouncer and haven't played with it in months, but when I said we were giving it to Aunt Amy for the baby growing in her tummy, they both felt the need to play with it... at the same time.
