Greyson's Weekend with Nannie & Guppy

Nannie and Guppy came to the rescue again! Nannie picked Greyson up bright and early Saturday morning to take him to spend the weekend with them so I could continue to recover from walking pneumonia. She had a full weekend planned and Greyson was excited to be going on a special trip with them. Even though their first planned stop (the train museum) didn't work out, they were on to the Kiddie Park. I think Greyson must have rode every ride there! Airplane, boats, Ferris wheel, horse & buggy, carousel - you name it, he rode it! Next they were off to the train at the zoo and topped the day off with swimming. The next day, they checked out the dinosaur exhibit at the Witte Museum and managed to squeeze in time for an ice cream cone before heading back home.

While it has been offered several times, this was the first time (other than when we were in the hospital for Addison's birth) that Greyson has spent the night away from us. We were relieved to see him do so well... he didn't even miss us and had so much fun! Nannie offered to take Addison too, but we decided to see how it went with Greyson first. It was strange to only have one kiddo at home, and while we were out running errands it felt even stranger only to have one kid to load and unload in the truck. I felt like I was forgetting something! It was strangely quite without all of Greyson's chatter/singing/whining, but Addison took that opportunity to test out her own voice by screeching and hollering. She thought it was pretty funny and we couldn't help but laugh! When Greyson returned late Sunday afternoon, they were full of snuggles for each other. We definitely missed him but glad he had such a good time with Nannie and Guppy.

Riding the train at the zoo.

Taking a break from helping Momma and Daddy pick out flowers at a nursery.
Picking flowers at a nursery... oops!
Helping Daddy in the garage. She picked out her shoes herself :)

Peek-a-boo!
So happy to be reunited!
