Addison - Three Months Old

Addison turned three months old on February 22. Our little chunky monkey is starting to fill out, and it looks like she will have her momm'a chubby cheeks! Her eyes still haven't changed from blue, and I am hoping they will stay that pretty shade of blue. Her hair is getting lighter and looks like it will be a very light blonde, for now anyway. She loves putting her hands in her mouth and is starting to sit up better in the Bumbo chair without leaning over so much.

Let's Rodeo, San Antonio!

On February 21, we met Aunt Amy and went to the San Antonio Rodeo. We sat in the front row of the arena and Greyson loved seeing all the horses and cows up close. The famous Leon Coffee tried to talk to him, but he was being shy. We walked around the exhibits and Greyson enjoyed seeing the animals and tractors. He told us, "I need to ride it" every time we passed a tractor on display. And there were a lot of them! He loved riding the carousel and was practically dragging me by my hand to get to it through the crowd. Addison did great throughout the day and both kids slept the whole day home.

Remembering Granny

Blake's Granny, Bonnie Jayroe Butler Lofland, was welcomed into Heaven on February 2, just one day shy of her 86th birthday. I only got to know her over a few years, but it's clear that she was a sweet, sweet lady who loved her family. Listening to the memories shared by all the family, it's evident that she was the true matriarch of the family. Blake always shared memories of riding bikes to his Granny and Papa's house after school with his sisters and he claimed to be "the favorite" grandkid. I always thought it was a bit self-proclaimed, but she definitely had a special place for Blake. Each time I saw her, she asked if I cooked for him and took good care of him. She lived a full 85 years and will be greatly missed by the whole Butler family - 4 kids, 12 grandkids and 25 great grandkids!

While we were in town for the funeral, we got to spend some time with the cousins and extended family. It was great to see everyone and there were kids running everywhere, but I am sure Granny would have loved to see a full house!

Harper and Addison checking each other out.

The guys went check out the site of Blake's cousin's new house and pond near Rockwall. Greyson got to ride the "tractor" and has not stopped talking about "Andy's tractors" since!
