Snapshots

This kid is into everything! I know, I know... it's only the beginning. I had my first "Greyson is too quite. What is he getting into?" moment the other day while I was in the kitchen and he was playing in the living room. I peeked around the corner and saw two little fistfuls of a plant and one torn up leaf. Luckily, I got to him before he put it in his mouth.

Caught in the act!
Dumping the box of toys over.
After searching for weeks for some sort of cute basket or box to put under our TV stand in the living room and coming up empty handed, I asked my crafty woodworking husband to make some boxes. They slide right under the shelf and hide all the wiring that Greyson was so interested in. They store his toys in the living room so we can just pull them out during the day and slide them back in when (if) we pick up his toys for the night. They are also great for keeping a baby contained for a few minutes!

Landa Park

The Lutz side of the family had a chance to get together a few weekends ago. Bryan was attending a conference during the week at the River Walk, so he and his family stuck around though the weekend. It was our first time to see Caitlin, the newest addition to the Lutz family. It was also Tanya's 29th birthday (yep, again!), so the whole gang met at our house and then packed a picnic and headed to Landa Park. The kiddos had a great time blowing bubbles, swinging, sliding and riding the train. I think Hallie wore Grandpa out playing keep-away!

Eight Months Old

Greyson turned eight months old on March 9. I couldn't get him to sit still long enough for the bathroom scale to read his weight, but I am guessing he's close to 20 pounds because its getting harder and harder to carry him in his carseat. He's wearing mostly nine month size clothes and eating Stage 2 baby food. I just bought some Stage 3 to try soon because he gulps down the entire container in just a few minutes. We have tried the little puff snack things, but he has gagged on them every time. He's not quite ready for those. I don't know if he has a favorite because he eats everything so well, but the funniest face he made was while eating prunes. I don't blame him! He's saying "da da", "ma ma" and "mum mum", laughing, clapping, humming, screeching, singing and making all sorts of silly sounds. Annnddd.... he's crawling! Well, kinda. He's been getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth and then scooting around and army crawling, and within the past few days, he has started crawling. He only takes a few "steps" at a time, but he's beginning to figure it out. We have also caught him trying to pull up on the coffee table and ottoman. Baby-proofing here we come!

Eight months old!
He insisted on holding the frame.
These pictures are getting harder and harder to take.
On the go...

Amy's Bachelorette Party

We celebrated the Bride-to-Be with a Bachelorette Party on the River Walk in San Antonio. We all met at the hotel and hung out for a while before heading out to dinner at Rita's on the River. We walked to the restaurant and were seated just minutes before a thunderstorm rolled though. After enjoying some Mexican food, margaritas and cervezas we headed to another bar before going to the Rivercenter Comedy Club. Following a rocky start from the not-so-funny opener (who butchered the other comedians' names while introducing them), the next comedian, "Jade" Esteban Estrada, aka The Prada Enchilada, came on stage in a full blown drag queen get-up, complete with a pink feather boa, man makeup, fake eyelashes and glitter hairspray. I thought Amy was going to kill me for bringing her here, but he ending up being pretty funny. The headlining comedian, JJ Ramirez, was also pretty good and of course heckled Amy a bit. He interacted with the crowd most of the show and when Amy told him she worked in crop insurance, he thought she said crap insurance. He said, "Well, at least she's honest." :)

A Day at Daycare

Greyson got a little rough with a toy attached to one of the play mats at daycare and somehow bonked himself on the head. He had a small red spot on his forehead right under his cowlick. As you can tell, he was pretty upset about it.

Amy & Barrett's Couples Shower

Amy and Barrett's wedding festivities are underway! The Couples Shower was March 1 in Concan at a house right on the Frio River. Since all of our potential babysitters were also attending the shower, I got permission from the Bride to bring TWO dates.

I had the most handsome dates there!

Bride, bridesmaids and friends. PS - I felt like a giant!

The future Mr. & Mrs. Phillips. Aren't they cute?!
