Cousin Swim Time

While Wyatt and Caitlin were spending the weekend with the Moores, we drove out to Utopia to join in on some cousin fun time. Tanya's friend let us all come hang out at her pool and we all had a great time swimming and hanging out. Swimming burns a lot of energy, and Nannie provided enough snacks to get us through an entire week! While all the other cousins were jumping off the diving board, Addison was glued to Blake and I. Then, all of a sudden she hopped up and said, "My turn!" and took off to the diving board. She was doing cannonballs with the crew in no time!

We have Shutters!

It's been a long time in the making, but we finally have shutters on the front of the house - handmade by Blake of course! In addition to our new flower beds that we recently redid, they add a nice touch to the whole front yard... and our neighbors are already putting in their orders. Now if I can just talk Blake into a new front door...

A hot, sweaty mess, but still cute as can be after a long day of playing hard at daycare.

We thought we would try letting the kids sleep together in Greyson's room. Addison usually goes to bed at 8pm and Greyson around 8:45, so it was a long shot. We knew they would play around for a while, but after an hour of repeating, "Get back in bed. Be quiet. No, you can't have a drink. Close your eyes..." we gave up. 

Sweet Summertime

Memorial Day is here so it's time to fill up the pools! We have had one of our pools since the summer Greyson turned one... four years ago! When the kids sit on top of the built-in slide, their legs reach the floor of the pool, so they started going down the slide backwards and head first to liven things up! 

Meanwhile, Blake is putting the finishing touches on the shutters for the front of the house! :D

Visiting the Volkers

We took a quick weekend trip to Huntsville to visit the Volkers, along with Nana and Papa. The kids had fun playing and swimming with their cousins Braylon and Wyatt, and Blake, Papa and Brad got to do a little fishing. It was Wyatt's 5th birthday, so we celebrated with pizza and cake for supper (per the birthday boy's request!).

Greyson has been participating in Awana at our church since late August. He's learned several verses and Bible stories throughout the year. The Awana Awards ceremony was held on May 23 to congratulate all the kids for all of their hard work! I helped serve as a substitute teacher and was in Greyson's class several weeks throughout year and was so proud to see him say his verse each week!

Greyson's Pre-K Graduation

Greyson's Pre-K Graduation ceremony was on Saturday, May 19. He was so excited to finally be graduating and that so many people were coming to see him on his big day. The graduating class of thirteen kids danced to "Boot Scootin' Boogie" by Brooks & Dunn and R. Kelly's "World's Greatest". After they each received their diploma, they tossed their caps in the air, put on a pair of shades and danced their way out. Greyson received the Cowhand Award for always being willing to help his friends. He has been at the same daycare since he was eight weeks old, so it's hard to believe that in a few months he will be off to Kindergarten.
