Visiting Santa

We took Greyson to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa before Thanksgiving in hopes of a smaller crowd and shorter time to wait in line. Although it helped some, Santa is a popular guy and we still had a pretty long wait. We checked out the fish tanks, taxidermy displays and rode the carousel while we waited. When it was Greyson's turn to see Santa, we gave him a handful of Yogurt Melts (his favorite) hoping it would distract him from me setting him on a stranger's lap. That didn't work. He didn't cry, but he whined and gave me a "help me, Momma" look while trying to wiggle out of Santa's lap. Maybe next year...

See that wide-eyed innocent look? That's the same kid whose scream you could hear throughout the store when the carousel stopped and he had to get off. :)

November Snapshots

Sorry for the recent lack of posts. I have a ton of pictures to catch y'all up on, so here are a few from November.

Greyson caught me eating a spoonful of cookie dough, so I had to give him the beaters. He was sooo happy! He kept smacking his lips and saying, "Mmmm!"
The finished product!
Redneck date night... Aunt Amy babysat Greyson while Blake and I hunted.
Greyson testing out the table Blake made for his cousins.
He loves to his beanie... even at bedtime!

Wurstfest

Last weekend we went to Wurstfest, the annual ten day salute to sausage festival in New Braunfels. Blake's friend Swayze was in town, so after they played golf and went bowling, Greyson and I joined their man-date and went to Wurstfest for some sausage on a stick, potato pancakes and beer.
Resting up for Wurstfest. I was in another room for two minutes and came back to this sleepy kid.

"My Deer" by Lilly

November 1 was Opening Day for deer season. Blake headed to the ranch for a weekend of hunting (Greyson, Nannie and I drove up to my brother's house to celebrate my nephew, Wyatt's birthday). Blake didn't have much luck (I'll him tell you about it), but my niece did! She does daily journal writings at school, and just as her mom expected, she wrote about her most recent hunting trip. I thought this was too cute and had to share!

Halloween and Wyatt's Birthday

My nephew Wyatt turned two on October 30. Since we were driving to his house for the birthday party on Saturday, we didn't go Trick or Treating on Halloween. Greyson did get to dress up as a scarecrow at daycare (a hand-me-down costume from his cousin Lilly, who is now almost 9!). Each class went trick or treating to the other classrooms, so he did still get some goodies. He wasn't a fan of the hat...

It was a long trip to my brother's house, and Greyson was cranky for the last hour, but we finally made it! The birthday party the next day was cancelled because Wyatt was not feeling well, but the kiddos still had a fun day of playing. Greyson made himself right at home with the Lutz kiddos' toys.

Greyson loved Wyatt's car!
We took an afternoon walk with Nannie, Wyatt, Caitlin and Uncle Bryan.
Greyson and Wyatt were having so much fun trying to stack Legos on Bryan's head!

Snapshots

Greyson thought it would be fun to toss all his toys out of the box and climb in. I'm not sure which was bigger - the mess or his "look what I did" smile!
Our big helper in the kitchen. He loves to help unload the dishwasher and take things out of the fridge and put them on the counter.
Almost tall enough.
I brought this home to wrap for Wyatt's birthday, but didn't get too far before some little eyes spotted it.
Coloring... and eating crayons.
He spent more time trying to hold all the crayons at once than actually coloring!

Greyson recently discovered Mickey Mouse Clubhouse... and LOVES it! The first few times he saw it, he would get upset when other characters were on the screen. He only wanted to see Mickey! He loves dancing to the song in the beginning and as you can see, the closer to the TV, the better. I see many living room Hot Dog dances in our future.

Busy Weekend!

We had a busy weekend that included a date night, wedding rehearsal and dinner, wedding and a quick visit to Grandpa's. Nannie babysat Greyson last Thursday while Blake and I headed out for our second date night since Greyson was born (the other one was in January for Blake's birthday!). My birthday was the following Monday, so we enjoyed dinner and a Kacey Musgraves concert at the Hall. We were yawning and rethinking our decision in the lull between the opening band and Kacey Musgraves, but once she came on stage we decided to stick around. She only has one CD out, so there were lots of fun covers, ranging from a Spanish-inspired version of George Strait's "I Just Want to Dance with You" to TLC's "No Scrubs".

I took the next day off work, so Greyson and I packed up and headed to Blake's work to pick him up. Then, we were off to Castroville and Hondo for a wedding rehearsal and dinner for my friend Katelin and her fiancee Bo.

Me and Greyson with the Bride!

Saturday was the wedding, so I was gone all day to do fulfill my bridesmaid hair/makeup/pictures duties. Blake and Greyson hung out at Aunt Amy's house at the ranch until Blake had to leave for the wedding, and Aunt Amy babysat the rest of the day.

My handsome date.
The Newlyweds

We stopped by Grandpa's house to say hello on our way home on Sunday.

Greyson and Grandpa

Monday was my "29th" birthday, but I was too tired to do anything else. It's hell getting old!
