Busy Weekend

Last weekend was a busy one for us. Our neighborhood was having a community garage sale, so we decided to round up some junk to try to make a few dollars. Blake went to Shipley's to get kolaches and donuts before the garage sale. Greyson really enjoyed his first taste of Shipley's! After lunch and naptime, we headed to Blake's office for a family day hosted by Flowers. Greyson had a hot dog (on a Flowers-made bun, of course) and later his first taste of cotton candy. He didn't quite know what to do with it and didn't like it as much as Daddy. He also got to play in a bouncy house for a few minutes, until bigger kids came. Once he figured out what to do, he was getting knocked down and wanted out!

Another Shipley's fan!
Loving his first time in the bouncy house!

Eating cotton candy with Daddy.
Practicing for next week's Easter Egg Hunt. He figured it out pretty quickly and Daddy taught him to gather several eggs in his hands and dump them in his basket.

Rainy Day Fun

Lilly and Hallie spent last weekend with Nannie. Since their outdoor plans got rained out, they decided to come visit us for a few hours. While Hallie practiced on her new harmonica, Blake played us a few tunes on his guitar. Hallie even got a Guitar 101 lesson from Uncle Blake while Greyson offered his expertise as well.

We all took a break from the music lessons and joined Greyson for snack time. Blake brought several samples of new products from work earlier in the week, so we all enjoyed a Dreamie (the Flowers version of a Twinkie). Greyson definitely enjoyed his first Dreamie!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Greyson loves to do anything Blake and I do... unload the dishwasher, fold laundry, workout, play guitar, etc. He got so excited the other day when he got to work out with Daddy. He loved sitting in Blake's lap while he did dips, and the 27 extra pounds made for a good workout for Blake.

While strumming with the guitar pick in his hand, Greyson dropped the pick inside the guitar. He laughed and thought it was a fun game to watch Blake shake his guitar all around to get it out.

Snapshots

Things have been pretty calm around the Butler House lately... other than the night Greyson decided to pull an all-nighter. He had a terrible cough and moved from his bed, to our bed, then I sat with him in the recliner and I finally put him back in his bed for a few hours of sleep until our morning alarms started going off. While in the recliner we decided to turn on one of his favorite movies to get him to calm down. He LOVES Buzz Lightyear, so he ended up watching Toy Story 3 wide-eyed from 2am to 3am! Finally he crashed and we all got a couple hours of sleep.

Wearing Daddy's cap.
Jeans over pajamas... this is what happens when you have a munchkin "helping" fold laundry.
Not a happy camper!
Sitting at the table like Momma and Daddy.
Another finger paint masterpiece.
This kid loves corn on the cob!
Sitting in the dump truck (just like Lotso from Toy Story). He's definitely growing - his hiney got stuck and the bed of the truck lifted when he tried to stand up.

Let's Rodeo, San Antonio!

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is in full swing. Last Sunday, my sister and her family joined us for a fun day at the rodeo. We walked the grounds and livestock barns before the rodeo and performance by Pentatonix. Greyson loved seeing the cows up close and "mooing" at them. The rodeo was right in the middle of Greyson's usual nap time, and he held out as long as possible, but finally crashed during the bull riding, the last event. I took him into the bar/lounge area where it was a little bit quieter during the Pentatonix concert, but he soon woke up and was ready to go again.

Blake and the FIVE Spurs Championship banners. He thought he was taking a picture with Hallie... hee hee.

18 Months Old

Greyson hit the 18 month-mark on January 9 and had his well-child visit a few weeks later. He's been talking up a storm within the last few weeks and seems to learn at least one new word a day. Greyson and I were working on learning "Spurs", then Blake sabotaged our lesson when we moved on to "Go Spurs Go". He'll repeat just about anything you ask him to say (so be careful what you say!). He can point out and say body parts and squints every time he says "eyeeesss". He knows several animal sounds, and I think the chicken's "bock bock" sound might be his favorite. He LOVES to dance and help Momma and Daddy (unload the dishwasher, throw things in the trash or recycle bin, put laundry in the dryer). He's our little Big Helper! He also likes to help me when I dress him. I got a report that he took his pants off three times in one day at daycare. He hasn't done this at home or since then at daycare, so I don't know what go into him. Silly boy!

So far, he's not really a picky eater. He likes bananas, chicken, backstrap, sweet potatoes, cucumber slices and even carrots, with a little ranch dressing, of course! He weighs 26 pounds 1.5 ounces (73rd percentile) and is 34 inches tall (90th percentile). He wouldn't sit still during these measurements, so they may be a tad off.

Trying to put on his shoes at the doctor's office.
He loves his "back back".
Painting on a cold, rainy day.
He loves the swings at the park and cried when we had to leave!
Enjoying some sunshine at the park.
