Father's Day

Before heading home from our weekend visit at Nana and Papa's in Rockwall, we celebrated Father's Day with Papa. Greyson helped Papa open his presents (even though Greyson spilled the beans as soon as he saw Papa on Friday afternoon and listed off everything we got him!). Papa got a new tool box and some fishing gear to get prepped for our family vacation to Cedar Creek Lake in a few weeks.

The boxes are always the best part of presents!

When we arrived home from Rockwall, I didn't have Blake's Father's Day presents wrapped, so we got creative with the "wrapping". In model fashion, Greyson presented Blake with a new fishing shirt and each of kiddo gave him a box of K-cups for his new Keurig. We are so lucky to have such a great daddy!

Visiting Nana & Papa - Part 2

While in Rockwall visiting Nana and Papa, we attempted to go to a park again on Saturday to let the kids burn off some energy. I say attempted because it was sooo hot that our park excursion only lasted about 15 minutes until everyone was hot and sweaty. Papa even got in on the fun on the swings at the playground, but we soon retreated home to the cool AC and played with Nana and Papa's stash of toys and puzzles and later cooled off in the kiddie pool.

While working on ditching the pacifier, she has taken a new liking to her blankets.

Visiting Nana & Papa

We recently made a trip to Rockwall to visit Nana and Papa. We left on a Thursday evening so we could have an extra day to enjoy the weekend. While Nana and Papa worked on Friday, we played at a local park and I finally got to try a Rockwall-famous Boots burger. Blake has been telling me how good these burgers are for ten years, but because of their popularity and limited hours, we have never been able to go (It was definitely a good burger, but I'm still not convinced it beats a good ol' Billy Bob's burger in Hondo. The debate continues...).

Greyson laughed so hard when he went over the rollers of the "bumpy slide"!

We originally planned to take Greyson and Addison to a Texas Rangers game, but Nana and Papa offered to watch the kiddos while we went to the game, our anniversary tradition. We got to enjoy a date night, and Nana got some extra snuggles. It was a win-win-win (the Rangers won, too!).

Meanwhile, back at Nana & Papa's house, Addie Sue was already out!

Rangers vs. Mariners (we enjoyed our seats in the shade!).

We had to sneak back in the stadium after the fireworks show to get our annual centerfield picture.

Pizza and Popsicles

I scream, you scream, we all scream for... pizza and popsicles! We had pizza for lunch (which Addison thoroughly enjoyed!) and popsicles in the afternoon. While swimming in the backyard, we heard an ice cream truck making its way through the neighborhood. We ran to the front yard to catch him when he came down our street and enjoyed some popsicles in the shade.

Birthday Party Fun

Our neighbors' son recently turned one and celebrated with a backyard birthday party. Addison and Greyson loved helping Tatum, the birthday boy, try out his new presents, but especially loved his new mini-bounce house. Tatum was more interested in playing with rocks than opening his presents, so Greyson jumped right in with the other older kids to assist.

Momma's Big Helper

Greyson has been a big helper with chores around the house lately. One day, I grabbed the vacuum to quickly clean up a mess and intended to put it back in the closet as soon as I was done, however Greyson asked to help, so I obliged. He sucked up the pile of dirt, but then insisted he vacuum the living room rug... then our bedroom. I was ready to call it a day on vacuuming, but then he wanted to do his bedroom...and we couldn't forget Addie's room! My quick clean-up turned into a much longer process, but how could I deny him the fun of vacuuming?! I was snapping pictures of him vacuuming (mainly to remind him how much fun it is when he's a teenager), so he thought it was only natural to take pictures of me doing the same thing. His camerawork needs a little practice. Ha ha! Addison wasn't a fan of the big, scary vacuum, but I didn't let Greyson chase her and threaten to suck her up with it (like we may or may not have done to my little sister when we were kids... sorry Amy!).
