Addison - Nine Months Old

Addison turned nine months old on August 22. These monthly pictures are getting more difficult to take each month. She has been crawling just over a month now and she is getting fast! She likes to follow Greyson and is exploring with more toys now that she is mobile. She likes to watch us roll balls across the floor and chew on everything! Not long after her first two teeth came in on the bottom, her top middle teeth cam in on the top. A few days after that, two more came in on the top! She already has six teeth and is starting to try table food. Her first taste of real food was pancakes and she seemed to like it. We have tried to give her Stage 3 baby food, but she does not like the texture. She even spits it out at me! She also gets mad and spits out baby food when she sees us with plates full of real food! I guess baby food is on the way out at the Butler house.

Bath Time!

Now that Addison is getting a little more stable while crawling and sitting, we let Greyson jump in the bath tub with her. It was a mess, but they both loved it!

The DoSeum

Blake and I decided to take the kiddos to the San Antonio Zoo one Saturday - in AUGUST! With a chance of rain late in the day, we packed up the kiddos and the wagon and hoped to be there and back before the rain arrived. While driving there the weather was partly cloudy and not too hot yet. When I called Nannie to see if she and Guppie wanted to join us she informed me it was dreary and drizzling in San Antonio. About two minutes after I hung up with her, the slow rain started, much earlier than we had anticipated, so we made a quick decision to check out The DoSeum, a hands-on interactive children's museum that opened about a year ago. Greyson was a little disappointed that we weren't going to the zoo, but recovered quickly when I told him we were going to go play. We arrived and thought we would spend a couple of hours there and leave when Greyson got hungry and/or tired. Well, this place is huuuuge and awesome! It's a two-story building full of themed rooms and hands-on exhibits for small kiddos, adults and everyone in between. We spent a lot of time in the "tiny town" - grocery shopping at HEB, going to the post office and bank, riding the trolley and airplane and checking out the construction site. He also like the ball room, where balls were shot at targets and pushed through clear tubing using air pressure. After a few hours, we took a quick lunch break at the Taco Cabana next door and went back for a few more hours. Greyson (and Blake) had a great time testing out every single exhibit. The rain let up late in the day and we even got to check out the "big castle" (tree house) and water tables outside for a little bit before heading home. I think we definitely got our money's worth!

Buying groceries.
This job is easy, right Papa and Uncle Bryan?
Playing Battle Bots (sometimes Daddy had more fun than Greyson!).
Learning about light and distance.
The ball room! I think they spent two hours in there!
...while Addison napped.
Another favorite... magnetic blocks. He loves playing with these at daycare.

Port A 2016

The weekend following our trip to Lake Whitney with the Butlers, we traveled South to Port Aransas to spend the a couple of days at the beach with most Lutz side of the family. The condo we stayed in was awesome, mainly because it was right on the beach! It was so convenient to just walk down the boardwalk to the beach, especially with so many little ones and all the stuff we toted around. The best part... no sand in our cars! It was Greyson's and Addison's first time at the beach. Greyson enjoyed playing in the water more than I thought he would, while Addison attempted to eat several fistfuls of sand. All the cousins had fun playing in the sand, building castles and roads with Uncle Bryan and making our very own Little Mermaid. The tide came up quicker than we expected, but the kids (and adults) had fun burying Aunt Tanya (partially) in the sand. Before heading home, we took a family field trip to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. It was tough going out of town and getting out of our routine two weekends in a row, but I love to see Greyson and Addison having such a good time with all their cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents! The weekend went by too fast!

Which way to the beach?

Cousin Lovin'

During our vacation with the Butler side of the family, Bonnie took some pictures of the kiddos with Nana and Papa. Trying to photograph one kid is tough, and six kids (five of them age 5 and under) is really tough! We all know that Greyson isn't much on group pictures, so Nana came prepared with the promise of popsicles as a reward and the rest of us clapping, waving and handing out candy for any smiles we could get. Aunt Bonnie did great with the kiddos and got some great shots. Check out her website bonniethomas.zenfolio.com to see some other great sessions!
