Addison - Eight Months Old

Our sweet baby girl is growing so fast! She turned eight months old on July 22, and started crawling just two days prior. In addition to the two bottom teeth she already has, it looks like two on the top will be coming in soon. Before she started crawling, she would get so frustrated when she couldn't catch up with Greyson, kicking her legs and pumping her arms, but not getting anywhere. Now that she has figured out how to get her tummy off the floor and her knees up under her, she is on the move! Greyson has had nothing but love for her so far, but we have already noticed his attitude slightly changing now that she can access his toys.

Propping her leg up while drinking her bottle. Greyson did the same thing!
First taste of dirt! (Don't worry, she didn't actually eat it!)

I've heard stories of Blake spending time in the bathroom perfecting his hair as a kid. I think Greyson will be the same way based on the amount of time he already spends in the bathroom "styling" his hair with water.

Play Ball!

The Moores invited us, along with Aunt Amy, Nannie and Guppy to a San Antonio Missions baseball game (minor league) last weekend. Lilly and Hallie brought their gloves to protect us from any stray foul balls and Greyson loved seeing the "Rangers". Between the game, the ginormous bag of kettle corn, play ground, bounce house and post-game fireworks, Greyson stayed entertained. Addison hung on for much of the night and fought her sleepiness as long as she could, but finally crashed when I walked around with her in the carrier. We had a great family fun night at the ball park!

Happy Birthday, Greyson!

Greyson turned THREE on July 9. I can't believe how fast time has flown by! Greyson is a typical, lovable, moody toddler. He's just like a sponge, soaking up and repeating everything he sees. He is Daddy's little shadow, helping with yard work and in the garage, and he likes to help cook (cook = sprinkling shredded cheese on everything or stirring). He loves Goldfish and chicken nuggets. He started potty training a couple weeks ago and is doing very well so far. Conversations with him are always interesting and often comical. His favorite characters are Lightning McQueen and his buddy Mater and the Paw Patrol gang. He's the sweetest big brother to Addison (though this may change when she starts crawling and getting into "his" stuff) and gives her a kiss each morning when we drop her off in her classroom at daycare. We love him to pieces!!

I made cupcakes to take to his daycare and his class sang Happy Birthday to him. He loved that! Saturday was his actual birthday, so we celebrated with a small party at home. We had a few family members, neighbors and one of Geryson's daycare buddies come over for some fajitas and birthday cake. He got to open lots of great presents and then played with his new bowling set (thanks Aunt Amy and Uncle Barrett!) with Nannie and Guppy. On Sunday, closed out the birthday weekend by singing one more round of "Happy Birthday" after supper and enjoyed the leftover cupcakes. Wish us luck on life with a threenager!

Birthday cupcakes for Greyson and all of his daycare buddies.
Happy Birthday to you!!

I took Greyson to Shipley's for breakfast to enjoy a special treat before his 3-year Well Child check-up. He immediately picked a chocolate donut!

Happy 4th of July!

We started the Independence Day celebration with a parade in downtown New Braunfels, followed by swimming and cooking burgers in the backyard later in the day. We capped off the night with a few sparklers and catching some fireworks off in the distance. Greyson's excited reaction to those was priceless!

5 Year Anniversary

Blake and I celebrated our five year wedding anniversary on July 2. Although he didn't pick up on my not-so-subtle hints for a return trip to our honeymoon destination of Punta Cana, it was nice to spend the day just hanging out together. It was a Saturday, so we dropped the kiddos of with Nannie and Guppy for a few hours while we celebrated with an extravagant day on the town. Just kidding, we ran errands around San Antonio (which went a lot faster without kids in tow!), went furniture (window) shopping and enjoyed a steak dinner at Saltgrass. I thought it was odd that our waitress asked if our check would be together - like it has been for the last 5+ years - until Blake pointed out that he wasn't wearing his wedding ring (He lost it at his sister's house a few months ago. It has been found, but we haven't seen her to get it back yet). I was turned so she couldn't see my ring and we didn't have the kids with us. I guess she thought we were on a hot date! We've had an eventful past five years... marriage, Blake's new job and recent promotion, two beautiful, healthy babies and our first house! I can't wait to see where the next five takes our little family.

Hopefully back to the beaches of Punta Cana! ;)

Headed to Nannie & Guppy's for the day! It's July in Texas and Greyson wouldn't leave the house without a beanie and jacket. Sometimes it's not worth the fight...

Getting wild and crazy! Last stop before dinner was at a woodworking specialty store. Now I know how Blake felt the few times he has gone to Hobby Lobby with me.
