Landa Park

Last Saturday, we took a morning trip to the park before it got too hot. Greyson wasn't very interested in sliding, but he loved turning the wheel on the firetruck playscape and climbing up and down the steps to the slide. On our way home, we stopped for another sno cone. :)

We keep forgetting how much Greyson is growing! We think the remote is out of reach, only to turn around to see him running off with it with the biggest "Ha ha, I got it!" smile on his face, while the TV is displaying some new menu options. I gave him one cookie and set the rest on the table... apparently not far enough out of his ever-extending reach. I turned around to find him with a cookie in each hand!

Swimming & Sno Cones

We haven't had too much going on lately, so we have been able to enjoy a few weekends (in a row!) at home. We headed to the pool a few times and cooled off with some sno cones!

Playtime!

I went to Target one day for a few things we needed and saw a whole rack of plastic balls. I have been able to pass on buying one for Greyson before, but since he liked the soccer ball and basketball that he got for his birthday so much, I caved in and bought him one. When I picked him up from daycare he saw it in the backseat and immediately started shrieking and bouncing up and down with excitement. He couldn't wait to play with it, and even though it took up all the extra room between him and the seat, he wasn't letting go.

Greyson's 1-Year Check-up

I took Greyson to the pediatrician for his 1-year check-up at the end of July. He is 31" tall (84th percentile) and weighs 22 pounds & 1 ounce (59th percentile). As expected, he was not too happy about the shots. He has handled all his other shots fairly well, but this time I am sure the whole building heard his scream. His second tooth (bottom right) also appeared the same day, so he had a rough day. He's eating like a big kid now! He likes just about everything - chicken, beans, lasagna, tomatoes, YOGURT MELTS! But he also lets us know when he doesn't like something by wildly swiping his arms across the table and throwing it all over the floor.

Garage Sale

We hosted our first ever garage sale a few weeks ago. Since we didn't have enough stuff to have one by ourselves, I recruited my mom and sisters to gather up their junk  precious treasures to boost our inventory! Lilly and Hallie even rounded up some toys they were willing to part with, so we ended up having a good variety between all of us. Eager shoppers showed up a whole hour early (luckily, we were ready to go!) and we had a good flow of traffic all morning. Lilly and Hallie even ran a successful lemonade stand. Not too many could turn down those smiles! I was surprised how well we did and there was only laundry basket and one trash bag full of stuff to donate after the sale was over. After we had everything all cleaned up and back in order, we took our earnings to Clear Springs for some yummy fried catfish and shrimp and called it a day.
