A few pictures from the last few days...

Too much playin' and not enough nappin' at daycare.
We're not sure why he started doing this, but this is his favorite bottle drinking position.
Reading to Nannie.
His favorite sleeping position..."bottoms up".
Who needs a pool to have fun with a noodle?!

Happy Birthday, Wyatt!

Last weekend we visited the Butler side of the family in Huntsville to celebrate Wyatt's first birthday! Wyatt's grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins from both sides of the family there to celebrate him turning the big O-N-E. The party was at Wyatt's house, so there was plenty for all of the kiddos (mostly boys from ages 10 months (Greyson) to 8(ish?) to do... bounce house, sand table, water table, bikes and cars to ride, rides in the Ranger, trampoline, etc, etc. I wanted to get a picture of all the cousins together, but they were having too much fun to be interrupted! I was so disappointed when I realized it, so hopefully I will be able to make it happen in a few weeks at Greyson's birthday party (yikes!).

Huntsville, here we come!
The only picture I got of Wyatt and Greyson...

Look at that grin! He loved playing with all of Braylon and Wyatt's toys!

Rough Weekend

As a result of the antibiotics he was taking for his double ear infection, Greyson developed a horrible diaper rash on Saturday. We have been lucky and haven't really had to deal with these yet, usually just a red hiney that is healed up with some Bag Balm by the next morning (Blake's parents bought a tin of this stuff when Greyson was born, and so far it's been awesome!). But since Greyson just finished his first round of antibiotics not too long ago, he was prescribed something stronger (and not as yummy) than the amoxicillin he took with his first ear infection. His hiney went from being a little red to a full blown diaper rash overnight, and even the Bag Balm wasn't healing it. We drove out to the ranch the next day and just during the ride there it went from bad to terrible. He was in pain and so uncomfortable, so we let him run around naked for a while. He was much happier without anything irritating his skin. Veteran Mom, Aunt Tanya, told us about a homemade cream, which Blake has dubbed Booty Butter - a mixture of Maalox and Vaseline - that worked wonders!

So what do you do when your baby doesn't feel good? Buy him a new toy, of course! Since he has been standing and trying to push his walker, I have been looking for a push toy like this to help him learn to walk. Target didn't carry one and I was dreading going to Walmart. I ended up  finding a used one and gave it a good scrub. Yes, I would rather spend an hour taking it apart and cleaning all the pieces than one trip to the New Braunfels Walmart in the summer. Good as new and he loves it!

Music Time

Greyson love music! He loves to hear Blake play his guitar and gets so excited when he can get his hands on it. He was playing with a toy guitar when I picked him up from daycare last week, so maybe he will get some of his Daddy's musical talent (because other than listening to good music, his momma has zero!)

Blake and I were catching up on the latest episode of Nashville, when one of the characters started singing and playing his guitar. Like a moth to a flame, Greyson stopped what he was doing, crawled to the TV and watched him finish the song. Maybe he thought he sounded like Daddy.

Dancing to Daddy's music... Check your volume before you press play. It might be a little loud.

Mother's Day

We celebrated my first Mother's Day doing what moms do best - taking care of sick kiddos. Greyson was running a fever and coughing and Blake was still not up to par, so we spent the day resting at home. Even a sick and cranky baby makes me realize what a blessing this little man really is. It's so fun to watch him grow, laugh and learn new things. I am so glad God picked me to be his momma!

Greyson created some artwork at daycare...

From the bottom of my heart to the tips of my toes, I love you Mommy!
Blake helped Greyson start a Mother's Day Journal for me. In place of a card each year, Greyson can write, draw or scribble a message. I love this idea and can't wait to see the pages fill up. He looks pretty proud of his work, doesn't he?

Ten Months Old

Greyson turned ten months old on May 9th. He's cruising in his walker and even lifts it up off the floor to get it over the tile/carpet seam. His balance is getting better and he's standing for a few seconds at a time. He loves the dishwasher. He drops whatever he is doing and crawls as fast as he can to the kitchen when he hears us open the dishwasher door. I haven't figured out what his fascination with it is yet, but it might just be because he always hears the word "no" when he tries to climb on the open door or grab the silverware. He even turned it on the other day!

Here's a look at how our mini photo shoot went. I don't know how photographers do it!

Snapshots

The Butler house was been pretty quiet lately. Greyson got his first ear infection the last week of April and then Blake had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Just when we thought everyone was getting better, Greyson started running a fever again and coughing. Another trip to the doctor's office to find out he had a double ear infection. Three ear infections within three weeks! Somehow, I have managed to stay healthy (so far, anyway).  Here are a few snapshots from the past couple of weeks.

Dinner at Clear Springs with Nannie and Gary for Gary's birthday.
Ready for daycare.
Eating chicken and baked beans. And yes, he does run this place!
Greyson pulled this Farm Animals book off of his bookshelf in his room and has been carrying it around for the past few days. He loves it!
