Rockwall Baby Shower and Fish Fry

We had our first shower for Baby Butler over the weekend in Rockwall. Blake’s family did an awesome job with all the food and decorations and it all turned out great. The boys were chased out of the house so we could “ooh” and “aah” over tiny onesies and baby gear. We are so lucky to have such a great family help us prepare for Baby Butler’s arrival!

Later that day, Paul and Terrie also hosted the 1st Annual Fish Fry as a memorial for Papa Check who passed away a year ago. Minus a handful of people, all the aunts, uncles, grandkids and great-grandkids were there. Even Granny made it out to see all the kiddos. We had LOTS of fish (Paul and Blake caught one 60 pound catfish, two 50 pounders, one 40 pounder and one 25 pounder the week before).

Between all the cousins, there are three babies due this summer. Blake’s sister, Christi, and her husband Brad are due with their second boy in early June, Blake and I are due with Baby Butler in mid-July and Blake’s cousin, Mandy, and her husband, Slaid, due with their fifth little one (the first boy!) in August.

Texas Rangers Game

For our first anniversary last year, we went to a Texas Rangers game in Arlington. We stayed at the hotel right next to the stadium and had such a great time that we decided to make it our anniversary tradition. Little did we know that I would be nine months pregnant for our second anniversary. We still wanted to make sure we made it to a game this year before it was 100 degrees and I got to the big and uncomfortable stage, so we celebrated a few months early. The weather was unusually chilly, but we still had a great time. The Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners 5-0.
