Today we had our first sonogram to make sure Baby Butler’s growth is on track… and to find out if Baby is a BOY or GIRL! I think Blake wanted to know from the beginning, but early in the pregnancy, I didn’t think I wanted to know. It only took a few weeks of a tiny person growing inside of me to change my mind. While driving down I-35 to meet Blake for the appointment, I saw the Oscar Meyer WeinerMobile. I snapped a picture on my phone and sent it to Blake, asking him if he thought it was a sign leading up to the big gender reveal.
Besides having to chug 32 ounces of water within one hour of the appointment, everything went great. So far we had only seen the flicker of Baby Butler’s heartbeat in grainy ultrasounds, so at 18 weeks we were amazed to see little a little body, arms and legs in constant motion. The first clear shot we could see was a tiny hand holding up one tiny index finger. With the twin rumor going around (Blake is a twin and my grandmother had TWO sets of twins), Baby Butler was assuring us there was one and only one kiddo in there. The sonogram tech did all the routine measurements and finally asked us if we wanted to know the baby’s gender. Baby Butler is a BOY! I don’t think Blake and I stopped smiling the whole rest of the weekend as we shared the news with everyone.
